Knowing regulation strategies like PACE and SEAT is powerful because co-regulation is the foundation of supporting an autistic (ASD) or disabled child, teen, or adult. When you can regulate yourself first, you become the safe anchor their nervous system can settle around.
Regulation is contagious (in a good way)
Neuroscience shows that nervous systems “sync up.” If you’re tense, rushed, or reactive, your child will often escalate. If you’re calm, steady, and predictable, their body can begin to calm too.
Strategies like PACE and SEAT give you something concrete to do in the moment instead of reacting emotionally.
