Case Study: Using an iPad as a Communication Device

The support team introduced an iPad with an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) app tailored to her needs. After implementing a structured plan, the iPad became a life-changing tool, empowering ----- to communicate independently.

 

Case Study: Building Confidence and Overcoming Anxiety to Leave the House

----- a 22-year-old man with autism we support, had been struggling with severe anxiety that prevented him from leaving his home. ----- support team, developed a gradual, person centered plan to help him build confidence. The plan included: support from DSW, a structured weekly schedule with small outings. Practiced relaxation techniques before and after outings. Building social confidence, & coping strategies for Anxiety. While ----- still experiences anxiety, he now has the tools and support system to manage it. By gradually stepping out of his comfort zone, he has gained a newfound sense of freedom and self-belief.
